I had a blast in Monterey! I am so pleased with the variety of photographs, from contemporary color, to classic B&W, to abstract photography. After I visited the Weston Gallery in Carmel-by-the-Sea I recall my early days of photographing with B&W film. The internet, not to mention computers were not around. I studied the books of Ansel Adams, Weston and others when I would visit local photographers. I could not afford them myself. B&W can be more challenging than color. It takes a lot of analyzing of the scene to know how to treat the various tones. I would use filters on front of my lens to separate the colours from the rest of the gray tones. It is still very true when you digitally converting your color image into B&W.
Below are classic B&W photographs from my time in Monterey.
